March – the Month of Books is here, and so is the third edition of the beloved Golden Coupon event on Panenská!
As you stroll through the Palisády area, keep your eyes open! In selected local venues, you might come across Golden Coupons – reminiscent of those from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If you spot one, don’t forget to claim a lovely surprise!
“The third edition of the Golden Coupon event brings new partners – this year, we are thrilled to welcome Staré Lýceum, Dobrý trh/Punkt, Viecha na Kozej, and Artforum Café, alongside the original participants: Staromestská knižnica, Artforum, Brot Books Deli, Goethe-Institut Slovakia, and Sväg to go. We believe these coupons will bring joy to people and perhaps inspire them to explore our neighbourhood and discover places they wouldn’t normally visit,” says Jana Slezáková, Director of Staromestská knižnica, the main organiser of the event.
Surprises among the books
When Charlie in Roald Dahl’s story found his golden ticket inside a chocolate bar, his life changed forever. The organisers of this event admit with a smile that their Golden Coupons don’t have quite the same power – but they hope the joy of discovery and surprise will brighten someone’s day.
How does it work?
Throughout March, if you visit Staromestská knižnica, the Artforum and Brot Books Deli bookshops, or the Goethe-Institut on Panenská Street, you might come across one of 72 Golden Coupons. If you find one, read it carefully – you might win a book, magazine, coffee or chocolate, a glass of wine, a ticket to an event, or another small surprise.
